hello juhu users! you might be surprised by its sheer existence, but here it is - 0.9.8! I'll give you the details later, for now just enjoy the download:

update: and as promised earlier, here are some details for this release. first things first - this release is not packed with new features and stuff, it is more like a 'making it right' version, which on the one hand fixes a couple of known issues and on the other hand cleans up the code base.
I see it as a prep release for 1.0.0 (which might come with some cool new features), but until then, take it for what it is. having said that, there are two tiny new features - a new theme (the other grey) and clickable location links.

you might ask yourselves why I chose to jump to 0.9.8 (from 0.9.0) for such a minor release. besides the fact, that version numbers are pretty arbitrary in the first place, the 0.0.8 felt right - since it is the first release in 2008! I know - shockingly so...so there is your reason. but for now you kids have fun and I go on pursuing my day job.

update 2: did I mention before, that there is a new application icon? no? well there is - thanks to benjamin a. wendelboe.

well, not much to say about this version, mainly two things. number one: 0.9.0 should fix the sleep mode/no connection crashes some people have experienced. and number two: it comes with a slightly redesigned application icon. I know, that's not much, but hey, at least I found the time to fix something. that's pretty much it and I guess this update will be the last one for this year. mobile juhu 0.4.3

I found some quiet minutes in my bussy schedule and used them wisely: I put together the next mobile juhu release. 

this one not only comes with less bugs, but also with a new feature: in addition to post your most recent safari url, you now can insert the current (music) track too. so go ahead and play with it, you can download the binary for a manual installation right here (282kb). and I hope that in a couple of days the update will also be available via Installer.app (thanks again to Shaun T. Erickson for giving mobile juhu a home on the ste repository). 

and as always, the complete source code is just waiting to be downloaded from the google code page.

mobile juhu 0.4.2

yapp, your favourite jaiku mac client is now coming to the iphone and the ipod touch.

it is the first release and unfortunately it isn't on any Installer.app repository yet - which means that you'll have to install it manually using the (secure) ftp client of your choice. of course you'll need a jailbroken iphone/ipod to use mobile juhu. if you have one, download the binary from here (283kb), put the file into the iphone/ipod application directory (/Applications) and restart your device. and for all the geeks out there: check out the google code page for the complete source code.

please keep in mind that this is a beta release and has only been tested on my 1.1.1 ipod touch (which is kind of broken due to the fact that I accidentally dropped it...). okay, if you have any questions or need help installing mobile juhu - don't hesitate - just mail me. otherwise have a fun weekend!

a new cat is around, right - it's leopard release day! and this is pretty much what this version of juhu is all about: leopard compatibility. some of you pointed out, that juhu crashes on leopard and I tried to fix what I could and by what I could I mean it runs fine on the last developer seed, but I haven't had the chance to test it with todays release (I hopefully will hold a copy in my hands in about two hours...) so, download it to your fancy leopard machines, and tell me whether it does work... or not. have fun.

wow, that was fast, wasn't it? okay, two reasons: I forgot to patch in one bug fix and some data load routines needed a bit of tweaking. termie from jaiku told me that juhu hammers a bit hard on the servers when fetching images. I hope this release will cut down the image downloads to a minimum and keep our favourite mini-blog site online. ;) sorry for any inconvenience caused - like having to download juhu twice in a day - but hey, it's just a click, or two, or three...

hello juhu users, this release basically fixes a number of bugs (ppc launch problem with update, entering credentials crash and so on) so for now no new features, sorry, but at least less bugs. ;) have fun with it and like always: I appreciate any kind of feedback.

well, if the last one took a while, then this one... I know, and I am really sorry about that, but spare time was rare time over the last couple of months. anyway, here it is - the new release - 0.8.3. since the last one wasn't exactly stable based upon some general problems I ran into, I decided to do a little redesigning, so in big parts juhu is a new app - both visually and from a coding standpoint of view. what does that mean? well, it should mean less crashes and a more stable and usable application (and it also explains the quite big jump in the version number). I hope all of you give it a try and at least some give me feedback. thank you.

this one took a while to come around and after all, the changes aren't so big. mostly bug fixing and some minor additions to the ui. the big problem with japanese characters that are not utf-8 encoded and break the whole feed is at least partially fixed - you can still not see non-utf characters, but at least the stream will be parsed and juhu will display it (hopefully). so here is what is new

• better non-utf-8 handling (regarding the problems with japanese)
• optionally hide channels and already read posts
• displaying flickr images
• clickable links in posts
• ui related issues - tab key for better keyboard navigation, juhu asks before add/remove contacts...

I am really sorry, that so many days passed by before this new version got released. what can I say? nothing but: sometimes a day just has not enough hours. (by the way, if there are any mac devs around willing to help out, you are welcome!) enough words written you should go ahead, have fun and let me know what you think. thank you.

new release - juhu 0.6.5 - and you won't believe it - juhu comes now with a scrollbar, really cool, hah? just kidding. apart from the obligatory bug fixing, and some ui changes (nothing big), there are three new features

this one took a little bit longer to come around, because on the one hand my spare time was occupied otherwise and on the other hand cocoa split views didn't want to make friends with me out of the box... nevertheless here it is!

the main work went into something pretty unspectacular - juhu scales now. you can resize the window and make the boxes bigger or smaller. nice, but there is more - sometimes I posted comments as normal posts, or simply mistyped something - going to the jaiku pages only to delete a post... mh, not the best solution, right? so I added a delete feature for posts and comments (trash icon beneath a post), I use quite a lot. besides the always todo bugfixing and some smaller changes within the interface (re-organised icons, etc.), I also added update notifaction - so if there is a newer version, juhu will tell you from now on (to disable that, just go to the preferences and uncheck the box)

enough said, now it's your turn. try it and tell me what you think, what you like, what you don't like or what problems you have using juhu. I'll try to help where I can.

and there it is - another built. in addition to a number of smaller fixes and changes (like new refresh times), there is one big new feature: commenting! yes, finally I made up my mind and implemented the non api way to post a comment. you can click the litte comment button below the actual post and enter your comment in the input field. just try it! I hope some of you will let me know if it works for you and tell me about issues and bugs you experience. thanks and have a good time.

with the latest juhu built the user interface changed quite a bit (take a look below) - the stream list is now bigger and shows not only avatars, but also the title of posts. besides fixing bugs some smaller changes and additions took place, for example you can now click on the latest label in small window mode in order to open a browser window with the actual presence. I am not exactly sure if the new design is really an improvement, so it would be nice, if you let me know. thanks and have a great, sunny weekend.

time for another release. like always I fixed some minor bugs and issues. and there is a new featureon the interface side of things: hotkey support! right now you can only use the default key combination ⌥⌘J to activate/deactive juhu - but hey, it is a hotkey, right? however, I plan to make this costumizable with upcoming releases. and last but not least: I readded the lost two icons - the bike and the toaster. so just download and have with juhu and jaiku on your os x desktop.

this new release provides a small interface improvement: thanks to rick juhu now lets you select an icon from a much wider range of icons. I myself was a bit to lazy to create a complete list of all possible images - but rick wasn't, so adding them all was really only a matter of minutes. furthermore with 0.5.1 a number of smaller bugs could be fixed. so go ahead and enjoy.

next built in line, waiting to be tried out. I fixed a big memory leak and a hand full of bugs - better behaviour after waking up from sleep mode and overall less crashes (I didn't experienced any at all, but this doesn't mean a lot, right?). when it comes down to the missing icons problem I am not sure if this version fixes it once and for all, some people tell me about icons being there and some tell me the are not. well, on my mac I can't recreate this particular issue, so it's like fishing in the dark... but I hope you let me know. so go ahead and try.

and there it is - a new release. internally a lot changed compared to previous releases, on the outside I made some small additions - like the possibility to start juhu automatically at login (option in the preferences panel). and like announced earlier, catching the latest updates from jaiku won't lock up the user interface anymore. this seems a pretty minor change, but from a coding point of view it involved some serious work. another point on the agenda for this version was fixing some bugs and making the application more stable, hopefully that worked out. for more information just take a look at the release notes.

Well, the next release was not exactly planned for today, but since the jaiku guys updated their service, juhu 0.4.3 won't work anymore or at least not in the expected way (which is clearly my fault, not jaikus!). So I used my lunch break and fixed a bug deep within the connection routines. Hopefully it will work again! And like before
