0.9.8 and 10.5

oh, there is actually one other not so minor detail I forgot to mention earlier - right now 0.9.8 is 10.5+ (Leopard) only.

update: as I was informed earlier today, 0.9.8 does not only not support pre-leopard systems, but also it is intel-only at the moment. I'll do my best to get a next release out the door as soon as possible - 0.9.9 will be a universal binary for 10.4+.

juhu 0.9.8

There is a more recent version of juhu, please download that one - 0.9.9

hello juhu users! you might be surprised by its sheer existence, but here it is - 0.9.8! I'll give you the details later, for now just enjoy the download:

get juhu 0.9.8 from here (via google 541kb), or the complete source code from the google code page.

update: and as promised earlier, here are some details for this release. first things first - this release is not packed with new features and stuff, it is more like a 'making it right' version, which on the one hand fixes a couple of known issues and on the other hand cleans up the code base.
I see it as a prep release for 1.0.0 (which might come with some cool new features), but until then, take it for what it is. having said that, there are two tiny new features - a new theme (the other grey) and clickable location links.

you might ask yourselves why I chose to jump to 0.9.8 (from 0.9.0) for such a minor release. besides the fact, that version numbers are pretty arbitrary in the first place, the 0.0.8 felt right - since it is the first release in 2008! I know - shockingly so...so there is your reason. but for now you kids have fun and I go on pursuing my day job.

update 2: did I mention before, that there is a new application icon? no? well there is - thanks to benjamin a. wendelboe.

a little status update.

first things first: thank you all for your comments! I can't begin to tell you, how valuable they are... but back to the topic, a little status update.

the good news first: development continues, the bad news: everything slowed down a little. among other things, I am planning a major ui redesign which does not only take time, but will make the next juhu release leopard only. it's not set in stone yet and of course your opinions do matter! so keep the comments coming!

and by the way: if there is a bored os x developer out there, who wants to help and join, just drop me a line!

sincerely
the monkey.

hello juhu users.

hi there,

it has been quite a while since the last update, but I have been a little bit busy graduating and finding a job, sorry :).

right now I am working on an iphone port for the official sdk, but if there are still some juhu users left, I might even put some time and effort into a new release for the desktop. so if you are using juhu and have some ideas and/or wishes, just leave a comment or send me a mail. thanks for the support.

juhu 0.9.0

There is a more recent version of juhu, please download that one - 0.9.8

well, not much to say about this version, mainly two things. number one: 0.9.0 should fix the sleep mode/no connection crashes some people have experienced. and number two: it comes with a slightly redesigned application icon. I know, that's not much, but hey, at least I found the time to fix something. that's pretty much it and I guess this update will be the last one for this year. I wish you all a merry christmas and wonderfull days with your friends and families. take care and have fun.
